Six Non-Obvious Things to Know Before You Meet Me For the First Time

A gentle primer for the uninitiated.

It can feel super overwhelming trying to navigate the world of companions online.

First of all, there are a zillion of us. You probably have about ten tabs open right now, and you're trying to figure out who's fake, who's weird, and who is going to actually be cool to hang out with.

I think I'm pretty cool— at least for a chess-playing numismatist who loves F. Scott Fitzgerald and gardening. But I'll let you decide that for yourself when we meet. In the meantime, here's a quick cheat sheet to what you can expect when you meet me for the first time.

1. I am super down-to-earth and friendly

Yes, I get how this could sound crazy considering that the pictures I post online are pretty glamorous.

But the truth is, I'm a chill and friendly person. You see the jewelry, the lingerie, the purses? I wear it because I like it. It's fun to dress up! At my core, I am practical and I am kind. I have Midwestern manners, though I have adopted Manhattanite flair along the way. Hospitality is a real art, and my priority is that you feel comfortable when you're with me.

It's common to feel intimidated when meeting a high-end companion. Worry not! I am a very normal girl. (I mean, as normal as you can get when you're a companion to Manhattan's elite.)

2. It's okay to be nervous

I actually find it quite cute when I can tell a man is nervous because it means he is looking forward to meeting me!

Pre-date jitters can be part of the fun. I still get them. Every time. Even with friends I've known for years. When you get jitters, it's a sign that you care about how this is going to go. It's charming.

Don't worry about being awkward. Take a deep breath and open yourself up to the moment. I'm happy to meet you right where you're at.

3. I am a chatty girl

I assure you, I've tried the blank-stare bimbo approach and it just does not work for me.

Good chemistry comes from tension, and tension is built by conversation. I love to banter and flirt and get to know you. To me, that's the difference between a good date and a great one. It's more than attraction, it's about how we click as people.

My curiosity towards you is a leading indicator that I like you. And that's a good thing :)

4. I am probably not available tonight

I juggle quite a few things beyond my life as Riley. I'm working on my other businesses, I'm traveling the world, and I'm taking self-care time to relax at home.

It is very rare that I have same-day availability. You're always welcome to ask, but it's not something I freely offer. And, besides, I have a feeling you'd have more fun if you booked an extended date anyway.

5. I have favorites

Unlike your second grade teacher, I am allowed to have favorites. I am hospitable, fun, and lovely with everyone, but I am admittedly a little bit lovelier to those who shape my life for the better.

What does that mean? It means I can tell when someone is looking out for me, and tries to make me feel as happy as I make him feel. Gifts and tips are, obviously, a fabulous start. But a thoughtful letter of recommendation, an introduction, or a really good piece of advice are all totally free and quite meaningful to me.

6. I love what I do

What a privilege it is to truly love what you do! I do this because I like it!

I'm fully independent, and I'm living the life I've always dreamed of. My life as Riley is one of the best things that has ever happened to me, and I'm sincerely grateful to the friends I've made along the way. None of this would be possible without you.

I care about making the world a better place and having fun, and I love to spend time with people who feel the same.

I think of companionship as an art form. And, like all good art, it's not about perfection. It's about creating something meaningful.

Food for Thought

You can do all the research you want — and I certainly suggest that you do — but you're not truly going to know what it's like to meet me until you actually do it.

Now that you know a bit more about me, I hope you're ready to finally take the plunge. Since we're already talking about it, here's the link to my introductions form. Write me a note! I'd love to get to know you.

Of course, if you prefer to continue lurking for a decade, that's your prerogative. Besides, I'd rather spend time with someone who understands that life is short, it's precious, and we don't have a single moment to waste.
